Wildlife...Too Close for Comfort!!

Ok, so when we arrived, we were informed there was a rat living under the washing machine in the laundry room.  The room is attached to the house, via a separate door.  We tried traps and poison, and never saw the rat.  On the second to last day of our vacation, all hell broke loose.  John offered to clean out the rat's nest, sticking his bare hand up and under the washer.  He pulled out remnants of our mop, amongst other items.  He started at the sound of a squeak, squeak, yet proceeded to pull more out.  This included six baby rats.  AHHHHHH!  My mother was beside herself!!  The rats were taken far, far, away. However, Mr. Snake was likely looking for them.  Unfortunately, he was separated from them, by the wall of the house next to the laundry room.  After all the commotion, it appears that he left mom's closet in search of rat niblets.  Even more unfortunate, mom stumbled upon him as she was walking into her room.  A few choice words later, John and Tina saved the day (with my excellent photography skills recording the moment) by ushering Mr. Snake out of our HOME and into a cooler.  We deposited the snake in the woods. At this point, mom was ready to be back in cold Kentucky!! The snakes are non-poisonous, they are constrictors, but that doesn't mean I wasn't freaked out.  I have had snake dreams since the event.  Oh, and to top it off, when I came home, I was startled by a mouse eating the cat's food in the pantry.  Choice words...came down to STUPID CATS!!

Bath Time is So Much Fun!

No worries...John has trunks on!  We LOVE the outdoor shower!
SO BIG!!
He's stolen our hearts!

The "I love Wes Club"

Harbour Island, Bahamas

We had a lovely time once again on Harbour Island!!  MeeMaw and Mom were there, along with our good friends from Maine, the Bourdeaux's!!  These pics are from our first full day.  We went to Grandfather's Beach and enjoyed the water and beautiful sand!  Wes was a fan!!

Thomas and Helen
Wes' Flinstone car!  His feet were always moving under the water!
Tina and the children!
I thought Wes would like the softer sand a little more than Mallorca!

For Nicole!!

The Bahamas pics are all ready for the blog...but this is for you, Nic!!  No, I didn't see her, but I did see Marty and Cleveland!  Didn't even make it to Gusty's or Sea Grapes!  Times a changin!

Baby Wes--7 Months!

At seven months old Wes...enjoys a fine meal of mixed veggies!
is teething, although there aren't any teeth yet.  He chews, drools, and has a runny nose!
is absolutely happy and very loved!
is unable to defend himself from predators, like Mitch!

Wes and Mommy in Spain--Mallorca

Wes and I traveled to Mallorca, the largest Spanish island in the Mediterranean Sea/Balearic Sea.  It is a major tourist destination for Germans; our tickets were only 40 euro total for both of us!  We were traveling with my good friends, Chanel and Kristen and certainly enjoyed our two nights away.  Wes really isn't a fan of the ocean quite yet.  He just likes to watch it and stay away from the water and sand!  The Bahamas will help with that, since we are traveling there next week!  He should be more fond of the powder beaches and warmer water.  Stay tuned for that update!

Play group was so much fun today!  These boys are really beginning to play with each other...taking toys away from each other, laughing and talking with each other!

Wes loved the parachute...it tasted good and was lots of fun!
