6 Month Shots

Our 6 month check-up isn't for a few more weeks...even though Wes will be 7 months old.  But we still went in last week for the immunizations!  First we had lunch with John, then my friend Kristen went to the clinic with Wes and me.  He drank the first immunization with a smile on his face; the tech said he'd never had a baby do so well!  Then he had two injections in the leg--with just a whimper!!  No fever followed this time, and he was able to meet back up with dad for some R&R!

Big Boy!!

Wes had a few firsts last week!  On our first trip to the commissary when we got home from Hawaii, we bought him a few sippy cups.  These photos are his first experience with the sippy cup.  He likes the water, but still needs for us to hold the cup for him.  They actually require some major sucking, so we took the spill-proof piece out...which makes for a nice wet baby!  He is also quite fond of Cheerios these days, although he has difficulty picking them up and getting them into his mouth.  They usually end up on his bib, or under his chubby chin!  We are a little queasy about his tolerance for the soggy Cheerios that soak up the water from his sippy cup spillage!

Last of the Hawaii Pics

Ok, so I've totally overdone it on pics from our last month and a half, but I couldn't choose!  We enjoyed our vacations so much and have so many wonderful memories and photos!

My little cutie! OUR little cutie!

Diving: A Whale of an Experience!

How cool is this!  As we left the dock on our dive trip, the sun was just rising...and the whales were full of energy!  In Hawaii, you have to stop the boat if you see whales within a few hundred yards.  That's awesome!  It made for an exciting addition to our dive trip!

Heading right for the boat!
Diving down...for about 20 minutes!

Maui--No Description Needed!

Wes' Godmothers--His Spiritual Guides

When we were in Washinton, we had the opportunity to visit with my cousin Stacie and her partner, Jody. They recently moved to Eugene, Oregon, so we met them half way in Portland for the day. We were excited to introduce Wes to them and to meet Jody. Evenmore, we were thrilled that Stacie accepted our offer for her to be one of Wes' godmothers. We are also happy that Jody was excited to be a special part of Wes' life as well!
On our trip to Hawaii, we also asked Aunt Kristi if she would like to be Wes' other godmother. After careful consideration (<1 second), she agreed! So, our little guy has wonderful people all around him to love him and guide him. But these family members that we chose have a very special place in our life now that we've never had before. We are confident that they also have special places in their hearts and lives for Wesley!

Vegas!!

A few days after Christmas, Wes stayed with Gammi and Grampa while the "adult kids" went to Vegas with John's cousins. We started right off with a beer pong game to get us started! This year, we stayed at The Paris, one of our favorite casinos.

I just noticed that someone is taking our picture that we don't know. wierd.
Katie and Ben beat John and me "2-0". But in the game of beer pong, you never really lose...
Kristi's first beer pong experience! She's a natural!
Take a look...the tower we were married in hasn't burned to the ground!
